“I opened my dental clinic in June 2020, amidst the first lockdown. It wasn’t an easy task. There was constant pressure from my relatives to start a family, but instead I'd taken up the challenge to start my practice during such ‘unfavorable’ times.
My husband is my biggest support system and without his help and support I could have never done it. Due to the lockdown restrictions, we had to set up the clinic ourselves — everything from installing the flooring to the interiors. Being a new doctor, and the first in my family, sure brought with it added challenges and difficulties in navigating this new and demanding career path. Starting out, there were times when I felt helpless, not knowing who to seek for advice. There were so many moving parts, and nothing seemed settled.
During such times, it was the flashes of my patients, gazing into the clinic’s mirror with bright, wide smiles and their heart-warming gestures of gratitude that kept me going.
