”I have appeared for NEET post graduation examination twice now, despite scoring well I couldn’t secure a place because of the reservation system in this country. I believe the quota system shouldn’t exist in the medical field as so much malpractice and corruption is prevalent due to it.

I grew up in Calcutta, studied in Rajasthan and now am finally about to inaugurate my own dental clinic in Surat. The plan was to be a cardiologist but my scores paved my path towards dentistry. I have always wanted to be a doctor and I was attracted to the profession as it was noble and was based on service. As a doctor, every new day is challenging and unique as the field of medicine is super evolving.

During the second wave of the pandemic, I served as the medical officer at a civil hospital. One of my favorite experiences being a doctor involves treating a young 15 year old child who was critically ill and on the ward for 25 days. On his discharge the mother of the patient was extremely grateful and thanked me repeatedly.

My mother has been the most influential person in my life and she inspires me to be the best version of myself everyday. She has taught me that nobody but I am my own competition and to always keep my aims high and work towards them relentlessly.
My advice to the upcoming medicos is that consistency is key and do not be afraid to invest your time, effort and interest into things you strongly believe in.”
