"Experiencing the process and witnessing the emotional rollercoaster that bringing a child into this world is myself, opened my eyes to the fears, uncertainties and the highs & lows that all my patients brave through"

September, 2021

"Practicing in a highly sensitive medical field like fertility brings with it heaps of unpredictability — joy, failure, success & disappointment. For every 2 of my patients who’ve been successful in conceiving their child, there are 3 who return home disappointed — still struggling towards their journey to parenthood. As a doctor, it truly breaks my heart when financial constraints are the reason some patients discontinue fertility treatment and give up hope. I was lucky to have become a father four years ago.

Experiencing the process and witnessing the emotional rollercoaster that bringing a child into this world is myself, opened my eyes to the fears, uncertainties and the highs & lows that all my patients brave through. Being a parent has amplified my passion towards my profession tenfold.

Working around the clock, with long lines of patients, hectic shifts and the uncertainty of the outcome of the treatment despite my best efforts is exhausting — mentally and physically. On those days, the smiles of my patients as new parents with their bundles of joy in their arms, pop up in my head. Those moments stick with me and are the reason I keep going. The satisfaction I receive upon seeing this genuine gratitude of my patients is the reason I continue doing what I do every day. "
